Greek Salad

The most popular, traditional, and fresh salad, the "Greek" becomes the perfect accompaniment to all wines. A salad so refreshing and full of flavor, from pure ingredients, grown in the fertile soils of our village.

The crimson and juicy tomatoes and the cool cucumbers, all from our garden, are the main features of the Greek salad! The freshly chopped onions also offer a mild spicy taste to the dish, while the capers give an even more special taste to the Greek salad, also collected leaf by leaf from the mountain of the village of Apollona. In Greece, in addition to the buds, we also take the leaves of the plant, which we boil, pour oil and vinegar or lemon juice over them or even pickle them.

Feta, a cheese with a rich taste and history, plays a big role in this dish. Salty and slightly acidic, inextricably linked to Greece, with its history beginning 2,000 years ago and being characterized as the "white gold" of Greek cheeses.

Oregano could not be missing from the salad, which has been used for thousands of years as a culinary spice, but also as a powerful healing herb that adds flavor and aroma to the salad. The oregano we use is picked from the bushes of the village of Apollona too.

Excellent accompaniment to the salad, the rusks from the women's agritourism association "Oi Apolloniatisses", which are rich in nutritional value and made from raw materials found on the island of Rhodes.

From the Greek salad, the pure, virgin olive oil could not be missing. High in nutritional value, mild in taste and ideal for a refreshing salad, always from the Piperis family olive groves, topped with black, salted, olives.
